Top Dogs News-This week, was all about yellow!  Because of last Monday’s holiday, we ended up wrapping up Mr. B, Beautiful Buttons this week.  We also introduced Mr. “C”,   Cotton Candy,  who made it back from the County Fair with some delicious Cotton Candy!   We will continue “C” next week!  We will also kick off the color green.  We will keep reading Pete the Cat, Clark the Shark, Cookie and Crayon books.

Other songs to sing at home-“Boom Chicka Boom”, “Old MacDonald” & “The Wheels on the Bus” .

Cool Cats News: ‘C’ is for Clouds, Cupcakes and Caterpillars!  The Cool Cats learned about the letter ‘C’ and the two different sounds it makes, and a triangle.  We read lots of books centered around a noun that starts with C-Looks Like Spilled Milk (a cloud book), Pete the Cat and the Missing Cupcake, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.   Each book had corresponding craft where we practiced cutting with scissors, painting, and glueing.  The pictures displayed below capture the Cool Cats enjoying our large muscle time.   After our Center Time, we head outside if it’s above freezing and there is no precipitation.  During inclement weather days, we utilize the Muscle Room.  We are lucky to have two great spaces at school to stretch our legs, run, pretend, and use our big outdoor voices.

Playful Bunnies Class News:  The Bunnies had fun continuing with their bug theme. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar a couple of times and learned about retelling it using the felt pictures. We learned a caterpillar song, used tissue paper and contact paper to make butterflies, painted a colorful caterpillar, and played with bugs in playdough. The Bunnies are a great group and are really learning how to play with friends and have a lot of fun at school!
