Playful Bunnies News- This week our playroom was transformed into a farm! The bunnies are enjoying gathering eggs from the chicken coop, counting, and cooking with them. They also are loving playing with farm animals, barns, and tractors! This week during circle time, we focused on the letter D and ducks. Our favorite book and song this week was Five Little Ducks by Pamela Paparone. This week the bunnies also made a duck pond, painted with puffy paint on a donut, and tore paper for a farm scene. The bunnies also had fun in a water sensory table washing ducks. What a fun week!

Cool Cats News-The Cool Cats learned about the letter ‘E’ and the two sounds it makes, the number 0, and a rectangle.  We read books about Eggs, Elephants, and Ears including all five senses. We did an egg gluing craft, an Elmer Elephant patchwork tissue paper craft, and used play dough to practice using four senses (we passed on tasting play dough). Our pictures this week depict a preschoolers favorite time of day-SNACK.  The Cool Cats have snack from 10:45-11:00, after our first meeting.  They get hand sanitizer, grab their snacks and water bottles, head down to the snack/craft room,  and say a prayer before eating.   Again, we encourage independence skills in opening and closing their containers and putting them along the wall when they are done.  We will always help open difficult packaged snacks when asked politely for help. Thank you for packing such nutritious snacks.  We spend 15 minutes eating so feel free to send the appropriate amount of food.  Two snack items seems to be ideal amount.

 

Top Dog News-This week we met Mr. “D” Delicious Doughnuts.  Mr. D  brought us a lot of things that start with the letter D!  Delicious Doughnuts & Dinosaurs from letter people land.  And then his son, Daryll, the Dazzling Dancer came and taught us to dance the Chicken Dance!   We added new items to our classroom-Dollhouses, Dogs and Doctor kits.   We learned all about the color purple and read and completed our purple book.   We read the books: “No David”, “Clifford the Big Red Dog”, “The Dinofours”, and “Harold and the Purple Crayon” .  We also learned the song, “Bingo” and reviewed “Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar”, Pete the Cat, “The Wheels on the Bus”, “Old MacDonald”, and “Boom Chicka Boom”. To end our “D” week,  Chip and Augie visited and we played Duck, Duck Goose in Gym.
