Playful Bunnies News: The bunnies had a wonderful week learning nursery rhymes, the letter G, and we began to talk about Halloween! During circle time, we read Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle and we also read 5 Little Pumpkins by Dan Yaccarino. We focused on learning nursery rhymes which included: Humpty Dumpty, Little Bo Peep, and Mary Had a Little Lamb. During craft we used our fine motor skills to fix Humpty Dumpty with band aids, painted a cow with corks, golf ball painting a pumpkin, and made a lamb mask. We also had fun with Halloween play dough! We are busy learning and practicing our songs for the Halloween performance, we can’t wait to sing them for you!
Cool Cats News: This week the Cool Cats leaned about the letter ‘H’, the number 1, and a heart. We played with a doll House and a cat House. We had fun doing a shape hunt finding yellow hearts hidden in our center room. And we read books about Hearts, Hedgehogs, and Halloween! The Cool Cats made adorable Hedgehogs cutting their own spikes. Our pictures this week feature our first meeting time of the day. We sing the name song, go over the calendar, letter of the week, number of the week, shape of the week, and weather. We sing an ABC song focusing on the sounds each letter makes and always read a book! The Cool Cats are great listeners and sit very quietly on a dot throughout the meeting. Well done Cats!
Top Dogs News: This week we played lots of Games with Mr. G Gooey Gum! We then had a “Blink” Walk with Glow sticks and then played “Guess the Glow” with a Halloween Flashlight. We read “Goodnight Moon”, “Goodnight Goon”, “Ghosts in the house”, a bunch of Curious George books, “Go, Dog, Go” and “Go Away, Big Green Monster”. Our song of the week is “Float Little ghosts” and our dance contest song is “Ghostbusters”. We began learning more about body parts with “Mr. Bones” and began to work on our big show for the Halloween party!
