“The Five Senses” by Aliki

“I Spy Little Numbers” by Jean Marzollo

“Nut” books by Eric Litwin

Playful Bunnies News-This week the bunnies had a fun time learning about the farm and the letter N. The bunnies are enjoying taking care of the zoo animals in our playroom! During circle time, we read a couple of books and listened to the audio about a Nut Family, by Eric Litwin. The books were Keep Rolling and Bedtime at the Nut House. The author’s website, ericlitwin.com, has a lot of fun audio books and songs including the ones that we read in school. During circle time we focused on number recognition to 5, counting, and adding and subtracting to 5 using nuts. We also recognized the first letter of our names. For craft we made a melted snowman and used our fine motor skills to put animal stickers in a zoo. We had fun with zoo animals in play dough. During centers we are enjoying using tools to build with blocks, a pom pom drop for color recognition, and noodles in our sensory table. We are having so much fun at school!

Cool Cats News: The Cool Cats learned about the letter ‘P’, the number 10, and a Pentagon.   We read books about Polar Bears, Pandas, and Pineapples. We glued ears, nose, and paws on a letter ‘P’ to make a Polar Bear.  We also learned a lot about Pineapples.  We observed a real pineapple, touched its outside spikes, cut into it and found the fruit and core, smelled the sweetness and ate the yummy fruit at snack.
We read about how pineapples grow and created a craft pineapple using sponges and paints.  Most of the class loved eating the Pineapple.  🍍

Top Dog News:  This week we are learning about the Five Senses with Noisy Nose.   We learned a lot on our field trip to the Wyoming Police, Fire and EMS station.  We worked on counting to 35 and one-one correspondence to ten.  We practiced counting by ones, twos, and fives as well as some simple addition and subtraction.
