Playful Bunnies News-The Bunnies are having fun with the new farm theme! The Bunnies have been collecting eggs from the chicken coop, taking care of farm stuffed animals, setting up barns and silos. Fun! Our letter puppet, Denise the Dentist joined us during circle time, sang Five Little Ducks with us and brought some letter D mystery boxes. Maybe your Bunny can remember some things that were in the mystery box? (ducks, donut, dog) During centers and craft time, we used puffy paint and sprinkles to make a donut, glued ducks on a pond, used little dinosaurs with playdough and tore up green paper for a farm craft next week. Fun and busy week!

 

Cool Cats News-‘E’ is for Eggs, Elephants, and Ears!   This week the Cool Cats learned about the letter E, the number 0, and a rectangle.  Our crafts included gluing Eggs on an E, glueing tissue paper on an Elephant named Elmer, and a listening paint project using our Ears.  We learned that ears can hear things but our ears and brain helps us listen to our teachers for instructions.  The pictures below show one of the Cool Cats favorite activity, SNACK!  The Cool Cats do a wonderful job retrieving their snacks and water bottles, walking down the hall, saying a prayer, opening their snack containers, and placing their snacks in the hall when finished.  We encourage independence but will always help opening containers when asked using the magic word-please.  Well done parents, the Cool Cats have really nutritious snacks.

 

Top Dog News-This week we met Mr. “D” Delicious Doughnuts.  Mr. D  brought us a lot of things that start with the letter D!  Delicious Doughnuts, play doughnuts for our kitchen area, Dinosaurs, Dum-Dums, Dogs and a Doctor Kit.    We learned about the color purple.  We read the books: “No David”, “Clifford the Big Red Dog”, “The Dinofours”, and “Harold and the Purple Crayon” .  We also learned the song, “Bingo” and reviewed “Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar”, Pete the Cat, “The Wheels on the Bus”, “Old MacDonald”, and “Boom Chicka Boom”. Finally, Chip and Augie visited and we ran relay races in Gym.
