Preschool Office News:  Congratulations to all of the classes for all of their great reading!

Mixed-up Chameleons News-Kindergarten Preparation Class:  Today we studied Ezra Jack Keats and read the book The Snowy Day.  We made mittens today during center time and Father Eric came and talked about teamwork.  We also enjoyed reading some of the favorite books our preschool pals brought in .  Finally, we read the book Goggles  by Ezra Jack Keats.

Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News:  This week we continued our author studies and learned more about Eric Carle, Margaret Wise Brown, and Leo Lionni.  We discussed what an author is and were authors together as we continued to work on our class book.  Our preschool pals learned about illustrators, copyright dates, and title pages.

Friday Enrichment News-(Mrs. Susan)-We had a fantastic time with the paper mache!  This week we the children will be painting their dinosaur eggs.  This can also get messy so dress accordingly.  Our letter for the week is U and we will also work on spelling our names.  Those children who can spell their first names will begin to learn to recognize their last name while the others master their first names.  They are all making great progress!

Panda Bear News:  Yeah!  Our Parky’s Farm trip is getting closer.  We will continue with our “Yellow Duck” and “Eight Baby Pigs” fingerplays.  Our feltboard story is still “Five Green Shamrocks.”  Our songs this month are “We’re going to the Farm” (Farmer in the Dell), “Farm Sounds” (Wheels on the Bus), and P-I-G-G-Y (Bingo).
