Summer Camp-Day #2
Today at camp we explored North America. We divided the continent up into four sections: Canada, The United States, Mexico, and Central America with a special focus on the Panama Canal. We talked about modes of transportation and made a chart of ways to travel. Since we talked about dinosaur bones yesterday, we made special dinosaur eggs today at art to hatch tomorrow. We had a special lesson about Hawaii, where we talked about how the island was formed by volcanoes. We also saw pictures of waterfalls, pineapple plants, smelled Kona coffee, and participated in our own luau. Daniel Flagler showed the class some special things from all over North America and some nearby islands, and Patrick Cavanaugh explained about the Titanic during our transportation discussion. We look forward to traveling to South America tomorrow!
