Office News: If you haven’t done so already, please try to turn in your medical forms and tuition next week.  Thanks!

Mixed-up Chameleons News-(Kindergarten Preparation Class): Blue day!  Today we started off with muscle room fun, sang our “Welcome Song” as we changed everyone’s name so it started with the letter “B”, did Circle Time center, the Pledge of Allegiance, had our expanded color lesson about blue, made Teddy Bears at art, played “Duck, Duck, Goose” for Gym, Introduced Pete the Cat during Reading Workshop, practice writing the letter “C” during writing workshop, as well as our names.  We also worked on illustrating our favorite colors for our “All About Me” books.  We started to assess “Social and Emotional” development and will continue this through next week.

Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News: “B” is for bear!  This week we read “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See?”, “Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you Hear?”, “Teddy Bear Picnic” and “The Three Bears”.  We painted teddy bears in art and participated in roller art.  We enjoyed our Teddy Bear picnic, learned out to play in our kitchen area, and some students participated in the Teddy Bear Picnic Game, that will be coming home on a rotating basis.  We worked on recognizing the color blue, square, patterns, and rhyming words.  We also learned “The Wheels on the Bus” song.

Friday Enrichment Class:  The kids had a great time making trees with their arms and then decorating them as we learned all about our seasons.  This week we will continue talking about fall.  Hopefully the weather will be nice and we can get in a nature walk.   The letter this week is C.  Please have your child bring in an item that starts with the letter C to share during group time.   Just a reminder, please have your child use the bathroom before school starts.  While the bathroom is close to our room, it does become an issue when everyone want to use the bathroom since I have to keep an eye on the classroom and the bathroom.  Thanks!

Panda Bear News:  –The 2’s had another stellar week.  The children had a lot of fun in art this week.  We painted, made alphabet soup, and decorated an apple.  For circle time, we continued to practice colors and counting with our fish felt board story and our fish fingerplay.  We sang “Wheels on the Bus” and our “Hello” song.  We continued with our story, “Hello Pizza Man.”  New this week, we introduced the letter A and we found out what was inside our mystery A box – an apple!  In honor of the letter A, our alligator puppet made an appearance to the delight of the kids.  The children are learning our transition songs and doing a great job with all of the transitions.  We sing the “Clean Up” song from “Barney” for cleaning up the classroom,  “Put your Finger on the Wall” for walking in the hallways, and we even sing a transition song to get our hands clean for snack and to get ready to pray.  Due to the rain, we got to try out the Muscle Room for the first time.  The kids loved it!  We are really proud of the 2’s class and we look forward to another fun week.
