Preschool Office News: If you haven’t done so already, please bring your Halloween party donations to school on Monday.  It helps to make our party set-up easier.

Mixed-up Chameleons News-Today we wrapped up assessment and had some Halloween fun!  We enjoyed learning about our last color, black, and practiced for our upcoming Halloween Party!

Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News:  This week we learned “H” is for Halloween!  We read “Curious George and the Costume Party” and made some spooky spider webs while painting with golf balls.  We read “There’s a Nightmare in My Closet” and made some closets with “Nightmares” in them.  We read “There was an old lady who swallowed a Bat” and made some bat bookmarks to mark our places while reading at home.  We read “The Little Old Lady who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything”, did the “Spooky Loo” and “Fly Little Bats” song.  We had picture day and practiced for our upcoming Halloween Party.

Friday Enrichment News-(Mrs. Susan)-The kids really enjoyed making their spooky ghosts.  There was a lot of ghostly noises coming from our class today!  This week there will be no class due to fall break.  When we return, we will start our Thanksgiving unit.

Brown Bear/Polar Bear News:  We are so excited for the Halloween party next week.  We are looking forward to seeing all of the cute costumes!  This week we continued all of our Halloween fun.  We have been working hard on our Halloween songs to sing for you next week.  Our letter this week was G and there was a guitar in our mystery box.  Mrs. Kim and Mrs. Katrina demonstrated their air guitar skills.  Thankfully, we had a very receptive audience.  For art we played with homemade gak and we put faces on a pumpkin to make a jack-o-lantern.  See you Tuesday!

A quick note about the 2′s class and the Halloween Party.  If you feel that your child will be more comfortable having you accompany them during the Halloween Parade, we strongly encourage that.  If you’re sure that your child will be fine, feel free to wait along the parade path and get some good pictures.  To those of you new to the Halloween Party, here is a heads-up.  The party is self-run by you and your child.  It does get loud and crowded.  If you are bringing younger siblings (which we encourage) it is helpful to bring another adult along.  Remember to stay until the end when the entire two’s class will get up and perform some songs (or stand there and stare at you.)  Either way, it’s soooo cute!
