Mixed-up Chameleons News-(MUC)-We kicked off our time together by playing “Duck, Duck, Goose” and “The Farmer in the Dell”.  We did our daily social studies skills and basic concepts, including our shape lesson on triangles.  We participated in learning centers and made a beautiful fall tree for art. We continued to learn the parts of the body in science and worked on simple addition during math.  We ended our day with lunch, recess, and writing practice.

Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News: This week we learned “J is for Junk Food”.  We learned about red, yellow, and green light foods and how to make healthy food choices.  Next week we will be learning about “K is for Kindness”.

Friday Enrichment News-  The kids had a great time making our “brick” houses out of mini marshmallows.  Most ended up on the paper while a few ended up in their mouths!  We will talk all about Thanksgiving this week. “This is Thanksgiving” by Deborah Zemke and “Thanksgiving Day” by Gail Gibbons.  The children will make very colorful turkeys.  This week our letter will be K.  I have enjoyed seeing what picture each child has been bringing in for our letter of the week.  The children have also enjoyed outside playtime and will continue to unless it rains so dress accordingly.

Brown Bear/Polar Bear News:  We are busy practicing our songs for the Thanksgiving feast.  Everyone is doing a great job.  Our letter this week has been I and we had a visit from Iggy the Iguana.  Iggy helped up with our mystery box which had an igloo inside.  For art we stamped footballs with legos, glued leaves on fall tress and painted leaves with q-tips.
