Preschool Office News: Please bring in your tuition payment sometime next week, if you haven’t already done so. Morning spots for the VHC class are currently filled. A waiting list is available. We do still have openings in the afternoon VBS class and the Panda Bear class for next school year. Thanks so much!

Mixed-up Chameleons News-Today we focussed on counting items. (One-to-one correspondence). This was very hard for a lot of the MUC’s. If possible, try to reinforce this skill at home by having “number” scavenger hunts, where your child gathers up twenty blocks, animals, dominoes, etc. to count. Our goal for them is to be able to count items one through twenty and be able to oral count to 35. These are needed skills before kindergarten. 🙂

Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News: We wrapped up our unit on People with Occupations in our Neighborhood this week. We have enjoyed all of the parent guest speakers, our community helper performance and our field trip to the fire and police station! It has been great learning a lot of practical, common sense knowledge from this study.

Friday Enrichment News- This week was very busy with our letter “P”.  We read “Penguin in Peril” by Helen Hancocks and then made our own penguins and snow.  Before we made “shiny” pennies, our book was “How I Became a Pirate” by Melinda Long.  The kids liked to experiment and guess what was going to happen.  After we did our science experiement, the kids got to count their “gold” with a fun math game.  Next week is letter “Q”.

Brown Bear/Polar Bear News: )- Our letter this week was the letter O.  In art we glued “0’s” on a big letter O, created a snowy scene with a shaving cream and glue mixture, and made necklaces with our leftover “o’s” (Cheerios and AppleJacks).  Monday starts a round of Valentine’s Day themed art projects. We are planning on creating Valentine bags to collect our class’s Valentines, so no need to make a box at home.  You still can create your own if you want – just know that we will have something for them as needed.  If you haven’t already registered for next year, please do so ASAP. The spots for next year are quickly filling up. Thanks!
