Very Hungry Caterpillar (VHC) and Very Busy Spider News (VBS)- “L” is for love this week, with a special focus on God’s love for us: The reason for Christmas. We talked at length about the birth of Christ, sang “Away in a Manger” and talked about the Trinity.  We also worked on singing our songs for the upcoming Christmas party.

Friday Enrichment Class News– This week we worked on the letter “L” by coloring a lighthouse by numbers, stuck letters on the letter “L”, learned about the lifecycle of a ladybug then read “Thr Grouchy Ladybug” by Eric Carle.  After reading “Library Lion” by Michelle Knudsen, we made our own lions.  We are still working on name recognition but are super close to everyone mastering that skill.  Then we will move on to spelling our names.  Next week, letter “M”.

Panda Bears: – December is all about Christmas fun. We have lots of new songs. We are learning “Jingle Bells,” “Ring the Bells,” “Spread Christmas Cheer,” and the “The Reindeer Pokey.” The kids love our felt board story “The Five Little Reindeer.” Our fingerplay, “Out Santa will Pop,” is also a big hit. This week in art we decorated trees, made candy canes, and made santa hats. Our letter this week was L and our lion puppet made his appearance.
