Parky's Farm Field Trip-Wednesday, March 20th
Parky’s Farm Field Trip
Our field trip to Parky’s farm, for all students, is scheduled for Wednesday, March 20th. We will be meeting at preschool at 9:30 a.m. and will be taking a school bus to the farm. (Please feel free to drive your children to the field trip if you feel uncomfortable with them riding the school bus.) For safety purposes, if your child is in the Panda Bear class, we are asking one adult to attend the field trip for the entire time. If you have a child in the Very Hungry Caterpillar, or Very Busy Spider classes, you do not need attend, but are welcome to do so.
The activity fee paid at the beginning of the school year pays for all students and one adult per student to attend this field trip. If you are planning on having any siblings, friends, or other adults attend, please mark this on the Parky’s Farm RSVP and pay $1.50 per extra attendee. (Please note that any children under the age of two, are free.) Parky’s farm no longer provides the wonderful box lunches they have in the past, so we are asking each person attending the field trip to bring a paper sack /zip-loc bagged lunch with his or her name on it for the trip
The following is our “flexible” schedule for the day:
9:30-Arrive to preschool wearing preschool shirt and with paper sack/plastic bagged lunch with name on it. (No lunch boxes, please.) Please dress for the weather. It does tend to feel cooler at the farm and we have had all kinds of weather! We have been snowed out one year and have gotten sun burn on other years.
9:45-Board the bus. Please note the bus may be a little crowded and you may need to have your child sit on your lap to allow room for everyone attending the field trip. Grandparents and extra adults may want to follow the bus in their car.
10:00-Arrive at Parky’s farm and head to the program barn and a puppet show for whole group.
10:15-Divide into classes and start stations.
10:20-Station #1-Wagon Ride
10:40-Station #2-Outside animals
11:00-Station #3-Inside animals
11:20-Station #4-Playground, or indoor games
11:40-Wash hands and eat lunch; inside, or outside depending on the weather
12:15-Leave for preschool. (If you are taking your child home, instead of riding the bus, please inform your child’s teacher).
12:30-Arrive back at the preschool
