Preschool Office News: Please bring in your last tuition payment, if you haven’t done so already. Also, please keep reading for Right to Read weeks! The VHC class needs a total of 24 pops to win their popcorn party, 48 for an additional doughnut party. The VBS class needs 18 pops to win their popcorn party and 36 pops for an additional doughnut party. There has even been some additional talk of a possible pizza party for a any class that gets 100 pieces!
Mixed-up Chameleon/Kindergarten Preparation Class News: Today was a Mish/Mash Day. We wrapped up some loose ends from Pinkalicious, Valentine’s day and Q is for Quilt. We learned about Lois Ehlert and painted with the veges and fruits we brought to school. We worked some on assessment for progress reports and talked a little about presidents day.
Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News: This week we began our author studies. We learned read books by and learned about Dr. Seuss and Leo Lionni. We have been working on learning opposites and rhyming words.
ws- We worked on the letter “T” today. The kids made turtles, counted turkey feathers and talked about trash. We also finished up our sharks from last week. Since most of the kids can spell their names, we will be moving on to writing our names. The best way to help a child with this task is to teach them to use a capital letter followed by lower case letters. This helps the kids learn both sets of the alphabet and also the way that they will have to write their names in grade school. Next week we are already on the letter “U”. Panda Bear News– So much loving and sharing has been happening with the two’s this past month. In art we were all about the letter “R,” and made rainbows and created red apples. We will wrap up our sharing unit and will start St. Patricks Day fun and spring animal songs. We will start learning our “Yellow Duck” and “Eight Baby Pigs” fingerplays. Our feltboard story will be “Five Green Shamrocks” and our songs will be “We’re going to the Farm” (Farmer in the Dell), “Farm Sounds” (Wheels on the Bus), and P-I-G-G-Y (Bingo).
