PLAYFUL BUNNIES NEWS:  The Bunnies had a fun week finishing up our big theme. We reread The Very Hungry Caterpillar, learned a caterpillar song, and painted a caterpillar and a butterfly.  We used playdough and learned how to use the cookie cutters with it. Playdough is great for the fine motor skills we’ll be working on all year with the Bunnies. Fun week!

COOL CATS NEWS: D is for Dragon, Dinosaur and Donut.  We hade a fun week playing with lots of dinosaurs in our class.  Some roared, some needed to be sorted and counted, some hatched out of play dough, and some even ate other dinosaurs!   After we play outside or stretch our legs in the muscle room, it’s time for our first meeting at 10:30.  This our learning time. Each day we study the calendar and use it to practice counting numbers, days of the week, and months of the year.  We also use Mondays to introduce the letter of the week, Tuesdays to reinforce the shape of the week by doing a shape hunt, Thursdays to learn about the number of the week and Fridays to play a beginning letter sound game.  We always check the skies for the weather and read a book that incorporates our letter of the week.  We love to play silly songs that teach us beginning letter sounds.  The highlight is getting to dance on our dots at the end of the song. The Cool Cats love learning time.  They sit still and are very engaged.  

TOP DOGS NEWS:  This week we talked about how to be a good friend and read books about “Clark the Shark”.    Mr. Cotton Candy came to visit and brought us some goodies from the County Fair.  We learned all about the color green and Pete the Cat!  Another wonderful week of Preschool!
