Preschool Office News: (Mrs. Cindy)- I’m still collecting Parky’s Farm RSVP forms. Please bring them in as soon as you can. Thanks!
Mixed-up Chameleons News-(Kindergarten Preparation Class)- Today at school was a fusion day between Saint Patrick’s Day activities, weather, and cooking. Sarah Flagler, Daniel’s mom, came to visit and showed the class her pictures of Ireland and taught the class some Irish dancing, (reminiscent of 5th grade music square dancing). We then made Windy City Pizzas and enjoyed some Saint Patrick’s day cupcakes brought in by Charleigh Jacobs, Olivia’s mom. We also enjoyed taking a “rainy day” walk in our rain gear with our umbrellas and participating some rainy day activities.
Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News- This week we read the book Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We learned about clouds and made pudding in a cloud, rain and made rainy day energy snack, and tornadoes and made a tornado beverage. We also participated in our bike-a-thon event!
Friday Enrichment Class with Mrs. Susan: Our day was filled with St. Patrick’s Day fun. Shamrocks were turned into leprechaun ladders, we placed mixed up shamrocks into order and ended our day with a potato hop game. When we return back to class April 5th, we will be starting our unit about weather. See you all at Parky’s Farm!
Panda Bear News: (Mrs. Katrina & Mrs. Kim)- Our field trip to Parky’s Farm is next week. Riding the bus (for those who are riding it) is definitely what the kids are most exited about. We have finished our farm themed crafts. The kids got their pigs all “muddy,” we gave our chicks feathers, and we gave our plain cows black spots. We will continue with our same songs “We’re going to the Farm” (Farmer in the Dell), “Farm Sounds” (Wheels on the Bus), and P-I-G-G-Y (Bingo). The children have loved our story this past week. (It’s our favorite story as well.) Make sure to ask your child about Pete the Cat and his New White Shoes. A lot of things happen to Pete’s new shoes, but Pete is one cool cat who takes everything in stride.
