Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News

Dear A&HT Wyoming Preschool Caterpillar and Spider Parents,

Next week we will be learning more about the letter “C”, and are looking for a few items to help our study.

First, we were wondering if anyone had a very nice cat they would be up to bringing in to school.  We are hoping to have someone bring one in the morning class and someone for the afternoon class.  We will be reading the books “Cat’s Colors” and “Cookie’s Week” to go with the surprise of a real cat!  We will also use the cat to talk about how to take care of a pet and animal safety.  Also, please let us know if you do not want your child to be around a cat for any reason.

Second, we will be reading the book “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”.  We would like to get one parent from each class to volunteer to provide cookies to go along with our book and the letter “C”.  If anyone has a Cookie Monster puppet, or stuffed animal, we would like to borrow that, too.

Third,  any clarinet, or cymbal players out there?  If so, we would love for you to come in for a performance. 🙂

Finally, I’m hunting for the book “The Talking Crayon Box”.  If anyone has this at home, we would love to borrow it for “C” week!

Some final reminders:  Please have your child go into the bathroom before school starts, even if they say they do not have to go. 🙂  Also, some of our students are having a hard time sitting “criss-cross applesauce”, sitting like a “pretzel”, or “Indian style”.  If you could make sure your child is able to sit like this, and if not, work on it at home, that would be super. 🙂

We’re looking forward to our “C” week!
