Halloween Party and Parade News

It’s that time of the year, when leaves are falling from the trees and jack-o-lanterns are glowing bright.  There is a nip in the air and the days are getting shorter, which means it must be time for the Wyoming Preschool Halloween Party!  I hope the following information and schedule will be helpful to you as the day approaches.

Schedule-Please drop off your costumed Panda Bear child to his, or her classroom at 9:30 a.m., and the Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spiders to the Muscle room.  At 9:45, we will begin the parade.  At 9:55, the Halloween Party begins!  At 10:45, Halloween songs will be performed by each class to end our party.

Sign-ups-Be on the look out for the sign-up sheet posted outside of the preschool office for the big event.  If you are interested, or able, please sign up to bring in a supply for our party.  Plus, you are free to take home any, or all of the extra supplies you have brought in.  If you have your own idea for a table/game please let us know.  We would be more than happy to add on another activity.

Game Stations-We will be having various game stations and art activities set up at our Halloween party.  Instead of asking for volunteers to help facilitate the games, most of the games will be self-run.  This means that when you and your child come to a game station, you will help facilitate the game with your child and then have your child pick out a prize from the prize bucket.  We hope this will free you up to spend more time with your child during the party.  Thanks!

Costumes-On the day of the party, we would like each child to dress-up in some type of costume.  It can be as simple, or as elaborate as you would like it to be.  If possible please refrain from any very scary costumes, blood, and gore.  Parents, please dress up too, if you would like.  All of the teachers will be in costume as well.

Parade-On the day of the party, we would like all of the Panda Bear preschoolers to meet in their preschool classroom and VHC and VBS to meet in the muscle room.  After everyone has arrived we will have the ghosts and goblins march around the outside of the church.  (The parade route will be up Worthington, left on Burns, and then the children will enter the “Parish Hall” area for the start of the Halloween Party.  (If the weather is poor, we will tell you the inside parade route at drop-off).  We would like all parents, families, and guests to line up around the sidewalk area to view the parade.  Don’t forget your camera; pictures are a must!  After the parade is completed, please join us inside for our party.

Siblings- We are more than happy to have siblings, friends, cousins, etc. join us for the party.  All family members are welcome!  Our goal is to make this a wonderful event for the whole family and hopefully a way to continue to create happy family memories together!  We also ask you to please help keep a watch on your guests, and to not let them run around like maniacs. 🙂

Treat Bags-Please have your child come to the party with his trick-or-treat bag, or grocery bag to collect all of his or her goodies!  (or you will be holding all of their stuff).

Songs/Conclusion-We will conclude our party with each class singing songs on the front steps of the church, or in the sanctuary.  We look forward to seeing you all there!  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
