Preschool Office News:  (Mrs. Cindy)- A big THANKS to all of our parents for getting their children to school in a timely manner and sending them to school rested and healthy.   Also, if your child is going to be absent, please e-mail or call the office.

Mixed-up Chameleons News-(MUC)-Kindergarten Preparation class-(Mrs. Sandy & Mrs. Mandy) This class loves to learn!  It has been wonderful to be able to teach and try so many new activities with this group of students!  We’re sorry about dismissing from the playground today, but got out late at 12:45, since they wanted to keep learning more!  Today we tried new learning groups, and had the students rotate through different learning stations with their learning groups. Today we also started our shape lessons with a circle.  We played some shape games, participated in some shape songs, and ended with our shape show and tells.  We also worked on our “All About Me” books and wrapped up our unit on “Inside Autumn” by being pumpkin investigators.  Plus, for our finale, we cut open the “Monkey Brains” Olive Barry brought in!

Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News:  (Mrs. Sandy & Mrs. Mandy)-  This week we went “Inside Autumn” with the letter “I”!  We looked at colorful leaves, gourds, nuts, acorns, walnuts, “monkey brains”, apples, and pumpkins just to name a few.  It was great fun to see what was inside these signs of fall!  We read books about leaves, and learned songs about the leaves falling to the ground.  We read Earl the Squirrel by Don Freeman, sang “Earl Squirrel” and “I’m a Nut”.  We learned about apples, read books about apples, and learned some songs and rhymes about apples.  Our color this week was red, and we read the story Pete the CatI Love My White Shoes, that turned red when he stepped in some strawberries!  (We are going to be adding pages to this book next week.)  We changed our seats this week on the rainbow rug, learned a new prayer at snack time, and lots more!

Friday Enrichment News-(Mrs. Susan)-(9:15-11:45)   Our Thanksgiving theme will continue this week.  First they learned how to set the table, now we need to make dessert!  This week will be letter J.  I have enjoyed seeing what each child has been bringing in for our letter of the week. Letter I seemed to be a challenge but many were quite creative.  The children have also enjoyed outside playtime and will continue to unless it rains so dress accordingly.

Brown Bear/Polar Bear News:  (Mrs. Katrina & Mrs. Kim)This coming week will be a continuation of our current circle time activities.  The kids have been genuinely concerned for our felt turkey that lost all of his feathers.  But, all ends well when we help him find all his feathers and practice our colors along the way.  The children have been introduced to our fall and Thanksgiving songs and we will spend the next two weeks practicing and enjoying them.  The letter this week will be G and the shape will be a heart.  Our art projects this week will focus on fall leaves.
