Preschool Office News: The Thanksgiving feast sign up posters are up! Please sign up for a food item and indicate the number of people attending. Also, please bring in $1.00, in an envelope with your child’s name on it, by December 1st for Santa’s workshop. And finally, please turn all in all outstanding tuition. Thanks!

Mixed-up Chameleons News-(MUC)-Today we had the “shape challenge” which would be a great activity to do at home, too.  We had everyone sit at the table with a piece of paper and a pencil.  We started by writing our names.  Most of the preschool pals did a great job writing their name and holding their pencil.  A few look like they could use some extra help at home.  A great way to practice is just get in the habit of trying to write their name each day, say five times before screen time, or something like that.  The ones who can already write their name and manage their pencils we challenged to write using appropriate lowercase letters and to practice writing their last name.  After the name writing, I would call out a shape.  Each preschool pal would then try their best to draw the shape.  We emphasized that we were about effort and not perfection; for them to just do the best they could at this moment.  The most important thing was that they gave it a shot!

Very Hungry Caterpillar and Very Busy Spider News: “K” is for kindness week! This week we learned about the first Thanksgiving and about how the Pilgrim’s and Wampanoag’s showed kindness to each other. For health/science, we have been learning about the different parts of the body. We have also been practicing our songs for the upcoming Thanksgiving Feast.

Friday Enrichment News- We worked on the letter “K” today.  The kids painted, made kites and used our math to count how many bows to put on the kite.  We read a book about kangaroos and kites as well.  When we come back in December, we will be working on letter “L”.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

Brown Bear/Polar Bear News: We are still busy practicing our songs for the Thanksgiving feast. Everyone is doing a great job! Our letter this week has been “K” and we had a visit from King Kenny. Kenny helped up with our mystery box which had a little king inside. For art we painted turkeys and leaves and created some special placemats for our Thanksgiving Day Feast. Looking forward to enjoying our feast with all of our preschool families!
