Cutting

An important skill preschoolers need for fine motor skill development is cutting. Here are a few ideas to teach practice this:

For cutting-

Start by introducing the scissors to your preschoolers. Show them how to hold them and remind them that “thumbs are up”.
Draw a straight line, a wavy line and a zig-zag line on a piece of paper. Have you preschooler work to cut on the lines.
